The 2010 outdoor track season marks start of improvements at the track facilities/stadium. The long anticipated project to replace the track surface at West Linn High School has been completed! The problem with the tree roots lifting the outside three lanes in corner one has been addressed. The Atlas Poly-5000 surface was installed; one layer better than Lewis & Clark College’s and Oregon City’s track.
Boys’ Track has a long history at West Linn High School. WLHS’s first individual State Champion was crowned in 1961. Though the years, the school has produced many individual champions and All-State performers. The Boys’ Team was dominating at the State level in the 1990’s with three State Championships (in 1996, 1997, and 1998) and a 2nd place finish in 1993.

Girls’ Track has a similar history to the boys’ team. While their highest team finish at the State Meet was a 2nd in 1997, they have not been short of State and District Individual Champions. The Girls’ team annually competes well for the top dual record in the tough Three Rivers League.
