Dr. John Linman is in his 12th year as Assistant Track Coach at West Linn (1999 to present) and is no stranger to running. The Stanford Grad was a 1969 Regional XC Champion in Minnesota, and has been running ever since. Linman’s two son’s Mike and Matt are both products of the West Linn XC Program. Linman still enjoys competing, running in local events year round. His retirement has also allowed him more time to enjoy his second favorite past time, golf.

Jay Schrotzberger got his start in running as a 10 year old trying to keep up with his dad. He ran four years of XC and track at Lincoln HS in Portland earning six Varsity letters throughout and MVP honors in XC his senior year. Jay took a hiatus from running for a few years while in college and took up cycling instead as his competitive release (obsession). Jay has come back to the world of competitive running in the last few years, and has coached individual athletes for events ranging from the 800m to the marathon.
